Afton

Afton Wind Farm is a 25-turbine 50 MW wind farm located near Cumnock, East Ayrshire. The site was owned by Infrared Capital Partners (IRCP) who instructed PfR in early 2018 to provide technical, commercial and planning consultancy services; acting directly on behalf of IRCP. The project was nearing the end of its construction phase when PfR was instructed and therefore the team had to swiftly get up to speed with the development, the construction team, and the outstanding matters to be addressed.

PfR was instructed as a technical director and senior planning advisor to IRCP to assist in the management of the final construction delivery phase to ensure the critical time frame to accreditation was achieved, and to facilitate the smooth taking over of the project / handover to the new owners.

PfR has worked within the Scottish planning system for 10+ years and this provided invaluable when engaging direct with the Local Planning Authority and SEPA on a number of technical, planning, and environmental matters at Afton Wind Farm. PfR successfully achieved the aim of its scope and the project was successfully transferred into the operational phase with outstanding planning matters resolved.
